Parents & Families, You should have received an email/text invitation to a new feature in our district app, and we wanted to share a few things about that invitation! As educators, we recognize that effective communication is crucial to the success of our school community. With that in mind, we are excited to launch a new communication platform called Rooms! This feature will exist in the same app you’ve already downloaded for our district, and its purpose will be two-way communication between staff and families. Our goal is to create a one-stop-shop for ALL of your school communication needs. To ensure that this new tool is successful, we will be rolling it out in multiple invites. We will have more information and all kinds of resources to share as we continue the rollout, and we will be fully implemented by the upcoming new semester, once we get back from Christmas break. As we start our rollout, every single student and parent will be enrolled in at least one virtual Room based on their grade level: Elementary, Middle School, or High School. If you have children in more than one of those groups, you’ll be enrolled in multiple groups! You may also see virtual Rooms for teachers, coaches, media specialists, and club leaders. These Rooms will be specific to the students enrolled in the individual class. Staff will be using Rooms as their primary communication tool beginning this new upcoming semester. Thank you, Dr. Alan Bryant, Ed.D. Superintendent

Homecoming
Manit Day is a holiday, observed in the Republic of Marshall Islands. Also known as culture day, this holiday celebrates the arts, history, and poetry of the islands. Good Afternoon, This is an update to the post made this morning about the list of schools across the nation regarding a bomb threat. The Idabel PD has investigated (and is still investigating) this claim. The list they have been provided does not list any school in Idabel. The PD feels there is no credible threat against any school in Idabel or McCurtain County. We will continue to operate on a heightened alert status. Thank you, Dr. Alan Bryant, Ed.D.

Good Morning, In an effort to communicate with our families and community we wanted to make you aware that Idabel Public Schools was notified this morning at 7:30 a.m. that our district was on a list with other school districts across the nation regarding a bomb threat. No specific school sites were mentioned. We have spoken with Idabel Police Department and they are placing extra patrol at our school sites. Thank you, Dr. Alan Bryant, Ed.D. Superintendent

🌟 Exciting Times at Idabel Public Schools! 🌟 We are excited to share the incredible developments happening across our district! Our students and staff are seizing new opportunities, showcasing their talents, and embracing programs designed to enhance learning and foster a sense of community. At Central and Primary South, we’ve introduced standards-based math and strategic reading interventions to provide personalized support for student success. We’re also piloting innovative programs like basketball, art, book club, and flag patrol, offering diverse learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom. Our students shined at the McCurtain County Fair, including participants in the Special Olympics Unified Partners. Their artistic talents were on display, with several projects earning ribbons in the Educational Building. The after-school programs at both sites are running at full capacity, offering a range of activities that allow students to explore their interests. The Sweet Sounds and Broadway Kids singing groups are in full swing. Additionally, students from both schools participated in recent pageants for their schools. We are also fostering a passion for agriculture through the “What Agriculture Means to Me” program. As we look ahead, don’t forget to mark your calendars for key events like Parent-Teacher Conferences on Oct. 14 and the Character Counts Carnival on Oct. 31. Our Student Recognition Program is also underway, rewarding students for their hard work and achievements. Our staff is growing, too. Teachers are participating in a book study of "Teaching with Love and Logic," enhancing their ability to build strong, positive relationships with students. PTO meetings are set to begin this month, where families will be involved in exciting school projects. At the Middle School and High School, school spirit is high! From softball, football, cross country track, and cheerleading to pep rallies and band performances, our students have been showing tremendous school pride. This week’s Rival Week dress-up days have added even more excitement, and Student Council activities are well underway, helping students develop leadership skills. After-school programs continue to thrive with activities like archery, STEM, and FFA. We had a fantastic showing at the McCurtain County Fair, where many of our students participated in various events and won numerous awards. Our Ag teachers have been phenomenal in guiding students to success, dedicating countless hours to their growth and development. Recently, Idabel High School hosted an impactful Suicide Prevention Assembly, demonstrating our commitment to student well-being. On Sept. 27, we look forward to celebrating Manit Day, led by our Marshallese student group. This event will unite our community and highlight the rich Marshallese culture, promoting understanding and unity. Idabel Public Schools is thriving, and we couldn’t be prouder of the achievements of our students and staff. We’re fortunate to be part of such a supportive and engaged community. As always, I am available to discuss any concerns or questions. Please feel free to reach out to me at the District Office at (580) 286-7639. Together, we are stronger! 💪 Go Warriors! 🏹 Dr. Alan Bryant, Ed.D. Superintendent of Schools
