🎉Idabel Public Schools proudly recognizes Charla Clements as our Idabel Public School Teacher of the Year, thanking her for her unrelenting dedication and commitment to the students in our district.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff are, and always will be, paramount at Idabel Public Schools. We take every threat seriously, and we respond swiftly and decisively to ensure the protection of our children.
Earlier today, a student reported that they believed they saw a firearm on campus at Idabel Middle School. In accordance with our established safety protocols, we immediately initiated a lockdown of the facility. Working in close collaboration with the Idabel Police Department, the McCurtain County Sheriff's Department, and the Choctaw Nation Lighthorse Police, we conducted a comprehensive search of every student and every classroom.
In today's world, we recognize that any potential threat, no matter how seemingly small, must be treated with the utmost urgency and a rapid, accurate response. We understand the concern and anxiety that such situations can cause, and we want to assure our community that we are committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment for all our students.
Following the thorough search conducted by law enforcement, no weapon was found. All students have been released to go home. We are deeply grateful for the swift and professional response of our law enforcement partners. Their dedication to our community's safety is invaluable. We also commend our students and staff for their cooperation and calm demeanor during this challenging situation. At Idabel Public Schools, we remain steadfast in our commitment to safeguarding the children entrusted to our care.
Thank You,
Dr. Alan Bryant
Superintendent

Idabel Middle School is currently under lockdown as a precautionary measure. Earlier today, a report was received that a student may possibly have a weapon on campus. The safety of our students and staff is our absolute priority, and we are working closely with the Idabel Police Department to ensure everyone's well-being.
Dismissal will be delayed as we are systematically clearing each classroom, one at a time, with law enforcement present. This process is necessary to thoroughly investigate the situation and ensure the safety of all students and staff before they are released.
We understand that this delay is inconvenient, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this situation.

Parents & Families,
You should have received an email/text invitation to a new feature in our district app, and we wanted to share a few things about that invitation!
As educators, we recognize that effective communication is crucial to the success of our school community. With that in mind, we are excited to launch a new communication platform called Rooms! This feature will exist in the same app you’ve already downloaded for our district, and its purpose will be two-way communication between staff and families. Our goal is to create a one-stop-shop for ALL of your school communication needs.
To ensure that this new tool is successful, we will be rolling it out in multiple invites. We will have more information and all kinds of resources to share as we continue the rollout, and we will be fully implemented by the upcoming new semester, once we get back from Christmas break.
As we start our rollout, every single student and parent will be enrolled in at least one virtual Room based on their grade level: Elementary, Middle School, or High School. If you have children in more than one of those groups, you’ll be enrolled in multiple groups!
You may also see virtual Rooms for teachers, coaches, media specialists, and club leaders. These Rooms will be specific to the students enrolled in the individual class. Staff will be using Rooms as their primary communication tool beginning this new upcoming semester.
Thank you,
Dr. Alan Bryant, Ed.D.
Superintendent
