Good Evening, After much consideration, Idabel Public Schools is canceling classes for tomorrow, January 22nd. I think there is a good possibility that roads could be icy tomorrow morning. The temperature is supposed to warm later in the day. However, my decision to cancel is predicated upon the safety of our students and staff. We will be back in school at regular hours on Tuesday morning. Thank you for your understanding. Dr. Alan Bryant, Ed.D. Superintendent

Good Evening, We have a probability of inclement weather (rain/freezing rain) beginning this evening and continuing through Monday morning with the temperatures balancing on either side of freezing. The forecast once again has been changing, but is leveling out as the time grows closer. We will announce via our notification system and social media accounts to all faculty, staff, parents, and students by 9:30pm this evening. Thank you, Dr. Alan Bryant Superintendent

Good Afternoon, As I mentioned Friday evening, Idabel Public Schools would make a decision prior to 7:00 p.m. today regarding in-person school attendance for Tuesday, January 16th. Our community seems to have been very fortunate in the amount of precipitation it received over the weekend. I was able to safely drive roads throughout our community this afternoon. Unless some major change in weather and road conditions appears, Idabel Public Schools WILL be in session for IN-PERSON school tomorrow, January 16th. School will begin at the normal time and buses will run their routes at normal times tomorrow morning. The temperature will be very cold; so please be properly dressed for your trip to school. We look forward to seeing you in school tomorrow morning. Dr. Alan Bryant, Ed.D. Superintendent

Good Evening, As you are aware, we have a probability of inclement weather beginning this weekend and continuing through the beginning of next week. The forecast seems to continually adjust; however, the closer we are getting to the weekend, the more consistent it is becoming. As you know, we have no school on Monday in recognition of MLK Day. As of this morning, Monday is the day that the snow is forecast to arrive. This morning I saw a change in accumulation amounts as well. Additionally, the temperatures are forecast to stay below freezing for a couple of days next week. I will continue to monitor the weather throughout the weekend and through Monday. We will make a decision Monday evening regarding in-person or virtual attendance for Tuesday.and will announce it via our notification system and social media accounts to all faculty, staff, parents, and students. Thank you, Dr. Alan Bryant Superintendent
