Because of health concerns, Idabel High School has made some changes for Baccalaureate and Graduation. Both events will be relocated to Warrior Stadium, George Coffman Field. In addition, the Graduation time has been changed to 8:00 p.m. Baccalaureate will still begin at 7:00 p.m.
Attached is a letter from Coach Pratt, guidelines for resuming activities on June 1st, and the summer pride schedule. Activities can begin June 1st, and summer pride will begin June 8th. Go Warriors!
On Friday morning, May 22, 2020, the OSSAA Board of Directors held a special meeting to discuss summertime athletic and band activities.
The Board rejected strict COVID-19 restrictions and voted to conduct summertime activities in accordance with the current rules and policies as stated in the Administrators' Handbook. In other words, the Board will allow summer activities to resume as usual.
The Association is giving local districts the power to choose how they will move forward. Idabel High School will join other schools in the state and reopen summer activities effective June 1. We are working on some simple yet safe procedures to ensure the safety and health of students, including cleaning protocols and physical distancing at games and events. Athletic Director Scott Pratt will post a detailed list of these protocols at the beginning of next week.
Athletes should be on the lookout for communication from their coaches and directors regarding summer activities, resuming June 1.
Go Warriors!
