This will be the last Girl Talk event of the summer and will be held at the Broken Bow Public Library. The topics that the young ladies discuss will vary. If they have any questions on an experience they may have had and how to approach it or just about anything they'd like to talk about. The way they do this process is they write down the topic or specific experience on a notecard and it's placed in a jar When it comes time for the event to start the panel, which are people from the community like teachers, school counselors, firefighters, law enforcement officers, and medical professionals who are all women, will answer the question they may have on the topic that was pulled from the jar. GTRT do encourage the young ladies to show up at 10AM so they can mingle with the other girls from 10AM to 11AM. Refreshments are provided, and gifts are given out when their ticket number is called when they take breaks. Girl Talk Real Talk starts from 11AM and lasts until 1PM.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sammy Lopez, a dedicated employee of Idabel Public Schools. In addition to his daily duties with the district, Sammy served as the head baseball and head softball coach. Sammy passed away last night, leaving a significant void in our school community.
Sammy Lopez was a valued member of the Idabel Public Schools family, known for his unwavering dedication and passion for both his work and the students he coached. Over the years, he made a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues, fostering a spirit of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Sammy Lopez was not only a dedicated employee but also a mentor and friend to many. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
In addition to his professional contributions, Sammy was a devoted family man. He is survived by his beloved wife, Karess, who also works for the district, as well as his children, some of whom are still enrolled in our schools and two who have recently graduated. Our thoughts and prayers are with Karess and the entire Lopez family during this incredibly difficult time.
Arrangements for Sammy are still pending. We will provide further updates as more information becomes available. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to offer support and compassion to the Lopez family and each other as we navigate through this heartbreaking loss together.
