Celebrate Read Across America by reading to Central Elementary Students!
For those who are interested in coming to Central Elementary on Friday March 1, 2019 to read to our students, here are further details for you:
This is a come & go event the morning of (Friday) March 1, 2019 between 8 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. to catch students prior to lunch time starting, but anytime is fine (as your schedule allows)! There will be cart in the foyer with books for you to select from or you may bring your own. Dr. Seuss bookmarks will be hung near the doors of the classrooms that still need to be read to. It might be a good idea to go to the end of the long halls and work your way back toward the front foyer so that all classes have the opportunity of listening to a reader. Read to as many classes as you like. We have 19 (2nd – 5th GR.) classrooms so there are plenty of opportunities to read. After a classroom has been read to twice teachers will take the bookmark away so that readers will know to move on to another room.
Feel free to dress up, be silly, or come as you are. In fact, the more strange/silly/weird you are, the more the students will love it! Promise! We welcome all readers!
