OKLAHOMA CITY —
Parents, before you send your children back to school, you can save some cash on certain items during Oklahoma’s tax-free weekend!
The holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, August 3 and ends at midnight on Sunday, August 5. Any item of clothing or footwear costing less than $100 will be exempt from sales tax.

Listing of items that are exempt from sales tax this weekend:
Aprons, household and shop Athletic supporters Baby receiving blankets Bathing suits and caps Beach capes and coats Belts and suspenders Boots Coats and jackets Costumes Diapers, children and adult, including disposable diapers Ear muffs Footlets Formal wear Garters and garter belts Girdles Gloves and mittens for general use Hats and caps Hosiery Insoles for shoes Lab coats Neckties Overshoes Pantyhose Rainwear Rubber pants Sandals Scarves Shoes and shoe laces Slippers Sneakers Socks and stockings Steel toed shoes Underwear Uniforms, athletic and non-athletic Wedding apparel
Officials with the Tax Commission said accessories such as jewelry, belts and purses and any special clothing or footwear primarily designed for an athletic activity are not exempt from sales tax.
Anyone can make tax-free purchases, and all retailers in the state must participate, officials said.
